Knowledge: List 5 facts you learnt from the text.




  1. I did not know that tigers can swim faster than the world's fastest swimmer.
  2. They can leap as far as 10 metres.
  3. That they are endangered.
  4. That there stripes are just like human fingerprints.
  5. There strips can not be the same pattern.


Comprehension Why are tigers disappearing?


Tigers are disappearing because people are poaching them. They are endangered because people are killing for their skin. There are only 6 thousand tigers left in the world.

Application Choose four specialist words from the text and find their definition.


Prowl Of a person or animal move about restlessly and stealthily especially in search of prey.


Camouflage Hide or disguise the presence of a person, animal, or object by means of camouflage.


Animal Relating to or characteristic of animals.


Extinct (of a species, family, or other larger group) having no living members.

Analysis What are some ways that we can save the Tigers, or how could we protect them?


We could put a big electric fence around the forest.
We could put some in a zoo.


Synthesis- New Ideas Create a poster/ infographic about Tigers to put up in the classroom. Include information you have learnt from the text.
